Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a polymer compound formed by the polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene monomer (CF₂=CF₂). Its unique molecular structure imparts exceptional chemical and thermal stability, as well as low friction, making it irreplaceable in the industrial field.

Microstructurally, the PTFE molecular chain consists of alternating carbon and fluorine atoms, forming a highly regular, helical, long-chain configuration. Each carbon atom is bound to two fluorine atoms by a strong covalent bond, with a bond energy of up to 460 kJ/mol. This tight C-F bond not only imparts exceptional chemical inertness-resistance to virtually all strong acids, bases, and organic solvents-but also extends its temperature range from -200°C to 260°C. The dense protective layer formed by the fluorine atoms (and their extremely weak intermolecular forces) further contributes to PTFE's world-low dynamic coefficient of friction (0.04-0.1), making it a core material for high-end seals, bearing lubrication, and anti-stick coatings.

In terms of its crystal structure, PTFE exhibits polycrystalline properties, consisting of crystalline and amorphous regions. The crystalline regions impart high strength and dimensional stability to the material, while the amorphous regions provide the necessary flexibility. Through directional stretching, a fibrous microporous structure is formed, resulting in expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), a breathable and waterproof material widely used in medical implants and filtration membranes.

As a key building block in the global chemical industry, PTFE's structural properties perfectly balance functionality and reliability, continuously driving the development of aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing, and environmental protection technologies. We are committed to providing customers with customized PTFE solutions that meet international standards, enabling the advancement of high-end manufacturing.
