Reinforced Polytetrafluoroethylene
Details
Reinforced Polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) is a high-performance variant of virgin PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly referred to as Teflon. While PTFE is well-known for its exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-stick properties, it suffers from drawbacks such as cold flow (creep) and limited mechanical strength, especially under pressure or high temperatures.

Enhanced PTFE for Industrial Performance

What is Reinforced PTFE (RPTFE)?

Reinforced Polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) is a high-performance variant of virgin PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly referred to as Teflon. While PTFE is well-known for its exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-stick properties, it suffers from drawbacks such as cold flow (creep) and limited mechanical strength, especially under pressure or high temperatures.

To address these weaknesses, RPTFE is formulated by adding fillers such as glass fiber, carbon, graphite, barium sulfate, alumina, or other inorganic materials into virgin PTFE. The result is a composite material that retains PTFE's chemical inertness while significantly improving:

  • Dimensional stability under stress
  • Creep resistance
  • Tensile and compressive strength
  • Wear and abrasion resistance
  • Service life under thermal cycling

We provide semi-finished RPTFE materials in sheet, rod, tube, film, and custom blank formats, suitable for machining into valve seats, gaskets, seals, bushings, and other industrial components.

FAQ

Q1: Do you offer custom sizes or shapes of RPTFE products?

A1: Yes. We supply semi-finished sheets, rods, tubes, and pre-forms that can be tailored to your specifications, including OEM sizes and standards like ASME, DIN, and JIS.

Q2: Can you export to Europe, the US, or the Middle East?

A2: Absolutely. We have extensive experience with international trade and provide full export documentation, MSDS, and certificate of origin when required.

Q3: What is your MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)?

A3: For standard sizes, MOQ starts from 10–50 kg. For custom compounds or dimensions, MOQ may vary based on formulation and tooling.

Q4: What is the lead time for RPTFE semi-finished products?

A4: Standard materials ship in 5–10 days. Custom formulations or dimensions may take 2–3 weeks depending on complexity.

Q5: Which payment methods do you accept?

A5: We accept T/T, L/C, and Alibaba Trade Assurance. Other options can be discussed based on order volume and customer profile.

Q6: How is the product packaged for export?

A6: Materials are packed in PE bags + cartons or wooden cases depending on size and weight. All shipments are palletized and labeled for sea or air freight.
