TAIGOR Modified PTFE Gasket

Product Overview

TAIGOR Modified PTFE Gaskets are advanced sealing materials engineered through a proprietary calendaring process that significantly enhances the physical and sealing properties of traditional PTFE. By incorporating high-performance inorganic fillers-such as glass microspheres, silica, barium sulfate, and alumina-these gaskets achieve exceptional creep resistance, dimensional stability, and long-term sealing integrity under harsh operating conditions.

Modified PTFE (RPTFE) gaskets from TAIGOR are ideal for high-temperature, cryogenic, and aggressive chemical environments across industries including oil & gas, chemical processing, LNG, pharmaceutical, and food-grade applications.

FAQ

Q: Why TAIGOR Modified PTFE?

A: Unlike conventional molded PTFE or skived sheets, TAIGOR utilizes a specially developed calendaring + controlled sintering process to achieve:
Better filler dispersion and PTFE fiber formation
Elimination of micro-cracks or delamination during sintering
More uniform material properties across large areas
Long-term stability under load and thermal stress
This makes TAIGOR one of the few manufacturers capable of supplying true high-performance modified PTFE sheets and gaskets that meet international engineering standards.

Q: What is the difference between modified PTFE and standard PTFE gaskets?

A: Modified PTFE gaskets contain fillers and are processed through calendaring, which reduces cold flow and improves sealing under load-making them more suitable for dynamic or critical sealing applications.

Q: Can these gaskets be used for food-grade applications?

A: Yes. Select grades (e.g., silica-filled) comply with FDA and EU regulations for food and pharmaceutical contact.

Q: Are TAIGOR gaskets compatible with aggressive media like hydrofluoric acid?

A: Modified PTFE has excellent chemical resistance; however, filler compatibility must be checked per application. We recommend BaSO₄ or Al₂O₃ fillers for extreme acids.

Q: Do you offer gasket cutting or OEM shapes?

A: Yes. We provide CNC-cut gaskets based on customer drawings and standard flange dimensions (e.g., ASME B16.5, DIN).

Q: What's the shelf life of modified PTFE gaskets?

A: Properly stored in original packaging, these gaskets can retain their performance for over 5 years without degradation.
