Product Overview
Filled Modified PTFE (mPTFE) refers to PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) that has been chemically modified and reinforced with fillers such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, graphite, bronze, barium sulfate, or alumina. These fillers are introduced to overcome the natural drawbacks of pure PTFE, such as cold flow (creep) and low wear resistance, while maintaining its excellent chemical inertness, wide temperature range (-200°C to +260°C), and low friction coefficient.
Compared to virgin PTFE, filled modified PTFE products offer:
✔ Reduced creep and deformation under load
✔ Higher tensile and compressive strength
✔ Improved wear and abrasion resistance
✔ Extended service life under high temperature and pressure
These improvements make filled modified PTFE widely applicable in gaskets, seals, valve seats, bearings, bellows, and diaphragms used in chemical processing, oil & gas, semiconductor, and automotive industries.
